10 Tips To Be Your BEST Self

Let go of toxic relationships

And recognise that in everything we look at, we see our selfs. The more we value ourselves the more we want to surround ourselves with people we actually appreciate and look up to. We no longer need to waste our time and energy on people that don't do the same for us. And though an honest relationship like that, true friendship is formed.

The First 30 minutes of your day are the most important

Be grateful. Once a day morning or night tell yourself how grateful you are for at least five things. Take it a step forward and be grateful for people in your life. Take this opportunity to express to them your gratitude and why your thankful for them.

Take time for yourself in silence

The more it’s hard to do, the more you need to do it. Sometimes things people go to therapy for years can be solved in 20 minutes of deep introspection. Try meditating for a week, once a day,10 minutes at a time - and see if it helps quiet the monkey mind, and allow you to become in tune with yourself.

Affirmations

I enjoy writing affirmations, in my darkest times I would wake up and read them aloud in the morning. When I knew I had to push through situations, or something’s if a little morning kick to start off the day extra special. I would portray what I wanted to feel more, see more and accomplish - in present tense. I used my inner strength to speak these words in to truth. Examples would be: I am powerful. I am calm and present. I am grateful. Thankful. So blessed. I see all good things around me and I spread positivity in to existence. I have great things coming my way. Say them with confidence, say them with truth. Speak them into reality.

Have a mental diet of good vibes

Screen out the dirty content. Notice what brings down your energy (relationships, television, certain foods, habits, even negative Instagram pages) and kick it out of your life. We each have the diet that we consume, but we also consume a diet of content we feed on. Each of these elements effects us in somewhere, and we have the responsibility to feed us things worth our time and energy.

Keep A Clean Space

Every morning I wake up and make my bed, this already makes my room look half tidy. In a tidy space we gain a steady mind. I am naturally messy, it required a lot of mental strength everyday to put in the extra effort to clean. Some people don’t let shoes in the house, some keep plants for sense of vibrance and life. Find your Chi space in your home, you owe it to yourself!

Sleep Tight

Must people need between 6-9 hours sleep (whichever keeps you most energised and is time efficient for your schedule). It’s great to recognise and acquire our schedule to our bodies needs. Put yourself first, and try to wake up with the sun. The best option for the most productive being is waking up at 5 AM, however other morning hours are great too.

Nourish Yourself

Feed your soul the nourishment it needs. Eat those life filled natural goodies, recognise the pure energy you feel from fruits, veg and nuts. Have the amount of protein you need. Drink as much water as your body wants you too.

Nourish Your Mind with Motivation

Ted Talks, books, audio tapes, motivational speakers and more can give you the clarity and mindset you need to be epically successful.

Know Your Worth

Stand tall. Breathe deep. Smile as much as possible. Complain less (if you don’t have something nice to say, say nothing). Show what you know you deserve and act like you already are you dream self. The Universe has your back. Keep spreading your light and love, and good things will always follow.

Life Hacks For Productive Living

Juice/ Fruit in the morning

Opening your morning with lemon water is an old tradition practiced all over the world, from India to ancient Rome. This tradition of drinking the lemony drink, is used to get your bowls moving and wake you up quickly. However, it's not the only form of drink that can wake you up smoothly in the morning. There's something about having live fruit when you wake up that makes you feel like million bucks. My favorite is having an orange right when I wake up, but a juice is just as good and easier.

Meditation

The first 30 minutes of your morning have the biggest impact for how the rest of your day will look. Take the time you need to wake up slowly, while giving up a couple of minutes of snooze. Get your thoughts in order, and prepare to start your day by clearing your mind from any clutter from before.

Journaling

A great way to keep track of your experiences, lessons, feelings and an easy way to introspect.

Keeping a Dream Journal

Some things may seem ridiculous, until they are written on paper. Our subconscious often releases bits and pieces of information while we sleep. When writing them we can assess, and learn from our dreams. By doing all these little actions of devoting time and attention to ourselves, we also gain a better sense of knowing and loving ourselves, while directing our lives to where we want them to go.

Get enough Sleep

Your body works hard all day, give it the respect it needs and let it be.

Treat yourself well and be kind to yourself

Ask yourself, do I want to be doing this right now? Am I benefiting from being here? Does this make me or will it make me happy? Speak to yourself kindly, try not to judge yourself. By training your mind to release negativite thoughts, you can rewire the way you think.

Start an Inspiration board

Print out some of your biggest goals. If you want to make a million dollars, write yourself a check. If you want to loose weight, print out a picture of your fit bod goals. Looking to get better grades? Draw the score you want.

Wake up early

Successful people all have something in common. They have a routines. Many motivated individuals wake up early everyday, and invest some time in themselves before the day begins. Workout, read, play with your dog, take a walk or sing. To make your dreams come true, you might have to sleep a little less and sweat a little more.

How To Start & Why?

I think when starting meditation, it’s pretty alarming how tough it is to turn off the mind. The conscious mind is silenced and thoughts from our subconscious finally have place to surface, along with intuition, memories, dreams and all in between.

When starting meditating using guided meditations are super useful. The guided ones give you the ability to actively follow a voice and walk you through to that new space in your mind. Every morning or night for 10-15 minutes is best. In order to get deeper better meditations I would recommend deep synced breathing (try the Calm app), being in nature, calm instrumental music before beginning, doing yoga with noticing the breathe and having a healthier diet. My meditations improve greatly when I give up meat, dairy and checking my phone when waking up. It takes a while til you feel that powerful shift in the ability to meditate, and it’s remarkable when it happens. Give it time and practice.

Sit comfortably in a quiet space you won't be disturbed.

Focus on your breathing.

Let your thoughts come and go without focusing on them too much, and without pushing them away forcefully.
Practice til your mind is cleared.

Meditation gives you that introspective time, awareness and also that pause you need in your day to day life. Also to know you giving yourself time to "just be" - which is an act of self love. And also it strengthens the ability to think before reacting and staying calm.

Studies show meditation reduces anxiety, reduces memory loss, promotes self awareness and emotional health, lengthens your attention span, decreases blood pressure, helps fight addiction and improve sleep.

From personal experience meditation has given me the ability to be aware of my thoughts, my bigger dreams with time, time to evaluate what is important to me, a calmer way of perceiving & inturepreating.
