The evolution in me,

Is the revolution I see

I stand here tall,

This is where I’m meant to be

I made up my mind

To cherish my time

To be myself is the selfless thing I could be

I choose to forever be me

 

If I could go back and talk to that girl

Who looked more out then within

I’d tell her to trust her heart more than a book

trust higher intellect, let imagination spin

 

I’d tell her every feeling she ever felt is valid and it is real

Emotions have no reason to be hidden and love is wasted concealed

She doesn’t need to be strong for anyone she can be whatever she wants

She follows her gut over her the "should" drowning out the wants

 

Be inconvenient. By all means be free.

If they don’t want to watch they are free to leave.

Fly where you want, look in the mirror and love what you see,

You are one of a kind, both the wave and the sea.

 

Not everyone else is always right,

Those who are louder or bigger aren’t by all means more powerful than thee

Friend more givers not takers, let go of what you can’t control

Breathe deep fuel the soul soul, my dear.

 

And one day that girl will be ready to start the journey to a woman,

It will start with a knowing inside.

She won’t be able to help you carry your burdens, because her cup isn’t full.

And she deserves her sweet time to pour in the divine.

So she put her world on her back, she doesn’t shurgs she explores
