Mother

The little girl who held a dolly,

turned into a mother and her baby.

She sings her child songs at night,

Looking into the future eyes, her name is Sadie.

Now 6 years old wanting to go to the pool.

Her mama closes her buttons and wipes off some drool,

In a blue dress waving goodbye, mom yells "Wait. April fools!"

She's not quite ready yet to say bye...

before sending her off to elementary school.

A little smile comes closer, with pigtails & a purple lunch box.

One sock has a zebra on it, the second a fox.

Mom plants a big one and leaves some red lip stick.

But she says class is starting, so it has to be quick.

"One last kiss."

It's this moment here, she knows she will miss.

When Sadie was eight she came home from a friend,

She said "Mommy I'm different, they all seem the same!"

Mama put down the basket of laundry and closed the door,

and the scent of her perfume amplified as walked nearbye on the floor.

"You are unique. One of a kind... Rare my dear!"

And Sadie went back to class the next morning filled with cheer.

With her superwoman look on.

She knew she has been loved as she is,

And doesn't want to be someone else.

And loves being a kid!

When Sadie was ten she came back to her mother's den.

"Mom mom! You would only believe if you got to see!

Chuck Padstinski tried to KISS me!"

She gave this kind of look, the kind only mama does. Then broke out in a laughter and asked "and you are jumping... 'cause?"

"I don't know mom! It was kind of gross!"

She ran to the room and ... picked her nose.

When she was fifteen she came home crying.

There was some bullying, the principle was describing.

It hit hard, it hit strong. And Saide's mom voice was ready to turn on.

Sitting hearing the catty tales, holding hands with the teen.

She fought for her daughter's rights, not letting other girls be mean.

"But mom what if it's too much, it's just something small. Just a small thing"

"Baby you will always live bold. You shall always be seen."

A mother fought for her daughter, and now she is strong.

With the worlds greatest role model to look upon.

And when she went of to Uni she got lucky cause,

Wendy brings her muffins and things to munch just because.

Like a lioness protects her cub with selfless nurturing.

From the bravery to give life and remembering "expecting".

To the first look & wrap of fingers,

The first holiday of three.

You created a human.

You made me!

Steely Dan songs and pancakes on the stove,

Giraffe licks afternoon in the machon.

Eating pomegranates watching bats fly way up above.

Saying thank you in 5 languages while the bees buzz.

The time I brought you a flower, and tens of ants came marching out.

Or the time to doctor moved my broken bone after roller blading and I said ouch.

These are the things that come to heart,

And thousands of words could be written,

of memories and times spend together

and the love given.

But know that no matter the limit of time.

You are first in my heart.

Partially cause you had dibs.

we knew each other from the start. ;)

I love you,

-Aviva
