Fuel Finder
An app for finding cheap fuel on the road.

This app was for a school project, and it had the intention to help drivers find gas and other car services quickly on the road.

I choose to depict the gas prices by using color analogies, e.g.,
dark blue (expensive) or light blue (cheap). I choose this because numbers would be overbearing and shades of blue are accessible across the color blind spectrum.

I added a special feature called fuel calculator, to allow users to be able to measure just about when they will need a boost.

The design is inspired by the UX of Waze and Lyft to look similar to the previous experiences of the users with transportation apps.
For the business model I decided the app has a marketing agreement with Pokemon Go, which enables users to burn up more fuel while driving to collect Pokemon, while the drivers are kept entertained playing while refuelling their car.

Persona

I started developing the site maps first on paper and then digitally.

User testing showed that some changes were required:

- Changing the word "Gas" to "Fuel".

- Using one consistent font throughout the whole project.

- Adding more outlining rather than having many floating features.

Now that you know the full story, check out the app again!

Thank you! :)
