An Event Meet Up App

The Process

Initially, when sitting down to think of a problem to solve through an app, my classmate and I thought of a meet-up social network. We thought it could be helpful for people to provide a service that would scale up the size of different events through carpooling and having a small feed of events a user could explore. We thought it would be initially for volunteering or activist events, but then the news story regarding the anchor Lucy Aharish and the actor Tzahi Halevi was released talking about the trials and tribulations of multicultural weddings in Israel. We talked further and decided to test the concept of an app that would allow people to post about an event publicly and have strangers join in on the festivities. After doing some user research we then realized this could be useful for religious people to gather enough attendees for a minyan, for those from the gay communities who have been disowned or for the birthdays of elderly people.

The Pivot
As COVID hit, we soon realized we wouldn't be able to test our product on minority groups and religious groups, as we don't know many of our potential users well. Therefor we decided to pivot and make the app more for 20-30 year olds who would like to get for different events, like: birthdays, wine and cheese nights, watching the Superbowl, and more.

The Final Product
